Wild Ride Routes!

Portsmouth Connex is pleased to announce the routes for the 2022 Wild Ride!

June 18 @ Shawnee State Beach Parking Lot by the Black Bear DGC (Disc Golf Course). Start times from 8-10AM. Last day for early bird registration is June 17th . Same-day registration will increase to $40 per rider.

First up is the Rattler Roll, this metric century is the toughest route that Shawnee State Park has to offer.

Next is the Bobcat route. This 30 mile route through the rolling hills of Shawnee State Forrest will give you a taste of what it has to offer.

Finally is the Bear Cub route. This out and back route is unchanged from 2021, and is roaring and ready to go!

Announcing two more additional routes this year! We have a 34-mile, and a 62-mile route that incorporates the best of both worlds that Shawnee State Forrest has to offer; Gravel!

2022 Wild Ride Registration Now Open!

The 2022 Wild Ride registration is now Closed! See us on the 18th for day of registration!

Help us celebrate Shawnee State Park and Forest’s 100th Birthday with us by participating in the 2nd Annual Wild Ride. The Wild Ride is not a race but rather a challenge. The gravel cyclist has two routes to choose from, the Bobcat-Gravel (a 35-mile route) or the Rattler Roll-Gravel (a metric century or 62.8-mile route).  The road cyclist may choose from three route options. The Bear Cub is meant to challenge beginner riders, the Bobcat is an intermediate route for more experienced riders, and the Rattler Roll is an advanced route full of challenging hills and twisting downhill turns. Aid stations will be provided along or in close proximity to all five courses. A registration fee of $25/rider is required in advance.  Same-day registration will be available but the fee will be $40/rider.  Your prize?  Pride, comradery, an edible medal, a drinking glass and drink voucher to the Portsmouth Brewing Company!

Wild Ride KOM & QOM

We are under 1 week away from the start of the Wild Ride! Portsmouth Connex wants to bring out the wild animal in you, and to do this we are going to have a bit of a competition!

There is a segment (a bunch actually) starting just off St. Rt. 125 and ending near the lodge. We have selected this segment:

The fastest Man AND Woman through this segment will BOTH receive a $25 gift certificate to The Ribber located in Portsmouth, Ohio!

Here are the rules:

  1. 1 attempt per person.
  2. Must be a registered rider of the Connex Wild Ride
  3. Attempt must be completed on the day of the Wild Ride.
  4. Attempt must be completed on a human-only powered bicycle, no “e-bikes”.

The winner will be announced at the end of the Connex Wild Ride, and if possible, we will hand out the gift certificates at the event. If the person(s) has already left, they will be mailed.
