President Barb Bradbury and board members Esther Downey and Bill Kirby along with some help with Life Center employees Kelsey, Britney & CJ participated in Portsmouth Day activities at Portsmouth Trojan Plaza. Connex had the middle school students participate in activities such at an egg race, jump rope and scooter races. Then there was a brief question and answer session on cycling history and rules of the road. There were several groups of students that rotated through out exhibit today. It was a great afternoon of fun and learning! #Connexmoves!
Join Connex on Sunday, May 7th from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. for some really great family fun! Free footers and refreshments and bike riding! We’ll be hosting our event at the Greenup Dam picnic area on the Ohio side. Bring your bikes and tricycles and work up an appetite by riding one of several route options to choose from then enjoy a delicious foot long hot dog grilled up by our friends at Life Ambulance.
Follow the signs for Ohio Division of Watercraft office that directs you below the Greenup Dam on the Ohio side.
Portsmouth Connex will have a table set up at the Tree City Celebration in Tracy Park on April 29th from 12:00pm until 3:00pm. We are accepting donations of bicycles in working order to be given to college students and those in need of some sort of transportation in our city. If you have an old bike taking up space in the garage or shed and it’s still in ride-able condition, please consider donating it and bring it down to our table on the 29th or call Bill Kirby 740-370-9339 and we’ll make arrangements to pick it up.
Mt. Hope Bible Camp is holding a 5K run/walk on May 6th. Sounds like a challenging course too. Click the image to open up a pdf for the registration form.
If you have an event that relates to healthy activity and would like to share it with us, please send your info to and we will help you promote it.
